Athletics Day 2019

FRIDAY 25^TH JANUARY 2019-ATHLETICS DAY

We set off for the field at 8.00a.m after breakfast and assembled near the junior football pitch where the events which were to take place together with the participants who represented various dorms were read out. Rules were also to be followed to the letter. Later, the Spiritual Director officially opened with a word of prayer and everyone dispersed. We had different kinds of events, 100m race, 1000m race, 10000 walk race, triple jump, long jump, high jump, discus and the hammer.

Different people represented their dorms by participating actively in the dockets they had been assigned to. Each dorm worked tooth and nail co-operating with the members so as to provide the representatives with energy supplement needed, glucose. The 100m race was won by Zachary Chege from St. Kagwa, walk by Christian Mutua and 1500m race won by Adams Kimbio not to mention all.

We then went for our lunch at 2.00pm and within no time, we were back to finalize the event. We had the long jump and high jump which were greatly performed. St.Mukasa led the high jump and St.Mbaaga the long jump. This consumed time and everyone was rushing here and there to represent their dorms. Lastly we had the tag of war which was won by St.Mukasa.

Finally, the time came for awards. We were all happy although not all of us would receive the awards. The games teacher, mr. Opondo started by awarding the dorm captains, the head boy and his assistant, followed by the best participants of the day and the best three dorms which were St.Kagwa.St.Kizito and St.Gonzaga.

Fr. Samuel then closed with a prayer and everyone dispersed happy and exhausted.
