SPIRITUAL FORMATION AS A QUEST FOR
IMITATION OF CHRIST’S LIFE

“By this Love you have for one another,
everyone will know that you are my disciples” (John 13:35)

WELCOME TO QUEEN OF APOSTLES MINOR
SEMINARY.

Queen
of Apostles seminary is the junior Seminary of the Archdiocese of Nairobi whose
mission is to foster and nurture vocations to priesthood. The primary task of
every Seminarian is to become like Jesus Christ; to think like Him, to talk
like Him and behave like Him. This is the goal of spiritual formation.  According to Christian teaching, man is
created by God in His image and likeness for knowing, loving and serving God
and thus to attain his perfect happiness in the next life.

Man,
therefore, has a fundamental relationship with God, with his fellowmen and the
universe. Man’s most fundamental relationship is to God who, out of great love,
created him and sustains him at every moment and provides his needs and wills
that he seeks and attains his complete happiness. The goal of seminary formation
is to form a mature, integrated and balanced human person in all human
dimensions.

Our
Seminary endeavors to provide an enabling environment in which the student will
hopefully grow into a whole human person. Seminary life is a multi-dimensional experience.
While a student is expected to excel academically, this should also be a period
during which a Seminarian takes full advantage of the available resources to
grow morally, spiritually, socially and in every other respect.

Some
of the services and activities which fall under the Spiritual Director in the
seminary are: planning and coordinating all Liturgical celebrations, promoting
sacramental life of students, pastoral guidance and counseling, helping
students in vocational discernment, fostering
prayer life and animating Christian values in the life of seminarians.
The objective of this department is to build seminarians’ faith and develop
their spirituality. We rely on God’s grace that builds on nature to help the
students discern the will of God in their lives. They are assisted to have a
deep awareness of God’s presence in their lives.

In
addition, students with distressing or disturbing personal and family issues
are assisted to overcome them by the dedicated team of teachers, priests,
counselors, spiritual director, recollection day facilitators, members of the
vocation team, confessors and student leaders. Students are encouraged to raise
and talk about issues that affect them. The life of Grace gives seminarians
strength to persevere whatever difficulties that may come along the way.

MAY GOD BLESS OUR SEMINARY.. MARY QUEEN OF
APOSTLES, PRAY FOR US.
